Counselling Services

  • Counselling FAQs

    What do counsellors do?
During a session, a counsellor will listen and ask questions to understand your hopes and needs, help you clarify issues and work through problems. You decide what we talk about.

    What don’t counsellors do?
    Assess, diagnose, or prescribe medication.

    Why work with a counsellor?
The counselling process is driven by you and is open ended; your desired change might occur after one session, several sessions or over a longer period of time. Counsellors typically don’t have long waiting lists and while we can’t yet offer Medicare rebates, our pricing is very competitive.

  • My Approach to Counselling

    Who do I work with?
I work with individuals of all ages with a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent teens.

What do I offer in my sessions?
My focus is on relationship-building, deep listening and curious questioning. I primarily draw on Solution-Focused and Narrative Therapy techniques and as such, hold the belief that you are the expert in your own life and that you already possess skills and knowledge that you are using to work towards your desired goals. We will collaborate to make meaning of your life stories and experiences.

    What principles underpin my work?
I strive to be trauma-informed, neuro-affirming and respectful of people’s sensory, movement and communication needs.
